| Once you get all your credit in order make sure you are using your three free credit checks a year to keep it that way. This way you can make sure nothing is out there in error and things that are suppose to fall off in a given time limit actually do. |

Yes, I also believe in repairing credit by self. You may face some problem while repairing your credit by yourself, but it is much better that paying for credit repair in return getting no results at all. You should have patience because resolving your credit problem by yourself may some time and it may sometimes require you to send more than one letter to fix a problem.

If you want, you may go for a credit counseling service to find ways to repair your credit score but you should not go for credit repair services with any agencies because they will do exactly what you can also do yourself. Be aware of agencies that promises you instant solutions to your credit score because there there is no easy way to increase your score. I agree with Justin on the he suggested for improving your credit score.

I have read a lot on these companies charging people money and then not following through with what they are supposed to do. Taking advantage of people in a bad situation is what they are doing.

there is nothig that they do that you cant do yourself. IT is silly to pay someone to pay your bills when you are tight on cash. PLus alot of these companys hold your payments in an account until your accounts go into collections then they settle witht the CA. Thats how they claim to save you 20% etc by killing your credit

True, it will just takes some responsibility to learn on your part and be disciplined enough to hold to the agreement that you make with the collection agency.
