My ex-husband had a stroke in Aug of 209. He has a 2009 Ford Explorer Trac Truck that he stopped paying on as a result of the stroke. Truck has been charged off can we still Insure the Vechile?

This is a common confusion for all of us. It's actually a loan which was charged off. The truck is actually a property of the lending institution. It will remain theirs till it's paid-off. But you can drive it and get it covered with an insurer.

It needs to be insured to be registered to drive. So you have to insure it. Aaron's right, it doesn't really change anything in respect to insurance.

It's always better to get your car covered before you get it on the road.
