I am trying to clean up my credit. Is it better to pay the full amount or settle and pay a lower amount? I'm trying to buy a house and I have to clean up credit.

Yes, if you can pay it in full, it will be reflected in your credit report as 'paid'. If you go for a settlement it will be reflected as 'settled'. A 'paid' status is always considered better than a status depicting 'settled'. But in the end it's up to your current financial strength. You can't just pay it in full and get yourself into another debt.
