Hi George,

Welcome to Credit Magic community.

As per the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act every US citizen is entitled to get a free copy of their credit report once a year on request from all the three credit reporting agencies Equifax, Experian and TransUnion. To get one you need to provide your SSN number. To obtain a free copy of your credit report online, please go to http://www.annualcreditreport.com This is the only authorized online source to get a free credit report.

However there are various other websites who claim to offer a free copy of your report. You might have come across some of their promos in television, radio or the internet. Beware of these sites as www.annualcreditreport.com is the only online source for obtaining free credit reports. Also make sure you spell annualcreditreport.com correctly as there are numerous fake sites who look and sound similar.

To know more about your consumer rights under the FCRA please go through this article:

Regards,
Richard

Thanks Richard for all the suggestions and I will soon contact annualcreditreport.com for my free credit report.

While surfing this site I came accross the case study section and I liked the whole idea behind it. Can you please explain in detail where shall I post my case.
