I HAVE NO CREDIT SCORES ,AS I HAVE NEVER HAD A CREDIT CARD.WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO GET A SCORE? I WAS TOLD TO GET A SECURED ONE AND START THERE. IS THIS TRUE?ALSO HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE? IHAVE A BANKRUPTZY,JUDGEMENT A COUPLE COLLLECTIONS ON MY REPORT.

Hello, STARR!! Just want to say 'Welcome'. Usually if your credit score is under a certain number (I think it's 300), the CRA's would record a '0' for your credit score. Yes.....secured CC's will really help because you would loading the card with however much you want..you would putting your own 'credit limit' on it. And, of ourse, you can't use more money than what is on your CC. Making payments (or, better yet, paying the balance off each month) will improve your credit status. You would have to probably search 'Secured CC's' on the web and see what works for you. :)

Also, something that may help (this helped me quite abit): if you have a savings account at a bank or credit union and you use that money as 'collaterol' for a loan. Basically..you would use your own money for a loan,..however,..some banks/credit unions will report the payments you make to the CRA's as 'good credit' because you're making 'timely' payments on a loan. Hope this makes sense to you.
