Welcome to the forums!
Bad to know that you are in a complex situation. The best option for you is to contact with an experienced lawyer immediately. I hope he/she will help you resolve your problem in a better way.

Yes..CA's pull alot of crap and play alot of games!! Don't agree to pay anything until they can 'validate' the debt they say you have. Look on your CR, too, to see if the debt is on there. Just to give you some 'personal' background:....HSBC tried to do something similiar to me. They called me and they called my employer. BOTH (me and employer) asked for some kind of proof I owed them any money. I never had an account, with HSBC, of any kind. HSBC threatened the same..they would come to my home, they would come to my work, etc. ...even got to the point where I gave them addresses for everything, they never showed..because they couldn't prove I owed them money for anything!! By law (and sometimes CA's will tell you "they are not obligated to send you validation.."), they are suppose to send you documentation. If you send them anything VIA regualr mail, always send it 'certified' so you have valid documentation on what you are doing.

I have been dealing with CA and the FDCPA long enough to know a lot of the basics.

My question still isnt answered... should I wait for them to finally send me the "we just purchased your debt" letter before I send my DV or should I call them and force them to send me the letter?

Oh yea... I forgot to say one more thing to Ron as I know for a fact that he reads these posts.

Ron,

You should know by now at your age that there are certain people who you just done F**k with. There ARE people who are waiting for people like you to call them. I can hear in your voice that you are a defeated man... A man who at your old age, cant seem to find his place in society other than to work for a company that you know preys on peoples fear of going to court. To this I am sorry. Truly sorry Ron.

I can only imagine if my grandfather couldn't afford to retire at the age of 60. I can only imagine how people in your family have distanced themselves from you.

A day will come in the VERY near future, where you and I will stand face to face and look eachother in the eye.

I hope you are man enough to hold your ground and try to justify yourself and your actions.

A man is only as good as the legacy he leaves behind.

What is your legacy Ron?
