| Can I change accounts but stay with the same bank in order to stop the payday loan while I get a debt consolidation loan? |

Welcome to the forums!!!
Yep you can close your old bank account and open a new one with the same bank. If it seems difficult to close your bank account, then put a hard debit check on your bank account to stop unauthorized withdrawal. |

| Yes..you can. But, if you're checking/savings account is in the negative, then I would say you would probably have to pay the charges (to get it back to a positive) to open your own account. I did that with my bank. Years ago my ex and I had so many PDL fees coming out of our account, the account stayed in the negative for such a long time. I had to pay all of the charges (did this with my tax refund) before I could open an account just in my name. |

| Hi! I am in seriously hot water with these pay day loans. I have already paid off one free in and clear but i still have 3 remaining and with them taking over $300 out of my acct every two weeks its going to be damn near impossible for me to pay them off and maintain my monthly bills. My credit is pretty much shot and I am dont want to put it in the gutter any more than what it is. I have been researching a way to get all the loans paid off and pay just one company at hopefully a lower fee... i came across 2 companies that specialize in consolidating pay day loans and i would just pay them. the term is about 6 to 12 months depending on the monies owed and how fast i want to pay the loan off. Is this a good idea or just another way to keep my in debt. Itf its not a good idea and ideas on how i can dog myself out of this major hole without losing everything? |

Hi, NINA. I just want to tell you that there is alot of people on this forum that has had problems with PDL's. First of all..let me ask you this. Is your bank account in a 'negative' status? The reason why i ask is because (personal experience here..) about the only way I could get out the PDL nightmare was to change bank accounts. That's not illegal to do!! If you do this, don't give out your bank account number to anyone else!! PDL companies can't take money from a bank account if they don't know what it is. I'm just suggesting this for a
'new' start for you. Yes..some consolidation companies advertise they "deal with PDL companies", etc.....but, if I were you, I wouldn't go for that. I tried one of them and I would have ended up paying MORE money to them than I was apying for PDL fees, alone. Talk to your bank and see what you can do. PDL companies do anything to try and get their money!! They can't take you to court! In fact, MOST (if not all) of PDL are illegal in the US. Can you tell me what state you live in?.. I can check into it for you. Can you tell me your 'progress' along the way? |

| My husband was charged with grand theft felony by quick cash, after six months of court, 6000 dollars in lawyers fees and so on, it was dropped to a petite theft charge in which he is serving 6,months probation for as we speak. Pdls can and will take u to court. Best advice, pay them or dont take em...they screw u in the ass regardless. |
