BOA acquired my mortgage from Wilshire Credit (out of biz) since the aquisition, both items for the same loan are listed on my report? How do I get Wilshire off?

I had this happen to me with my student loans. They were all sold to another company after the whole banking fiasco. I was advised that since the doragatory information was with the old bank, I was pretty much out of luck...I'm not sure how true that is, I will keep researching to see if I can help us both Smile

Welcome to the forums!!!
Usually negative items remain on your credit report for 7 years from the date of your first default. You should immediately inform this matter to the credit bureau. I hope they will take necessary steps in this regard.

I've had this happen with a few debts. The item was posted twice..once by the OC and once by the CA. I DID 'dispute' the itme from the OC (because the OC went out of business). The 'disputing' actually worked (only on one item, though). You may want to try that and said if it works. It doesn't hurt your credit if you 'dispute' items.
