Dispute caused a drop in my credit score!!

Hi all. I recently obtained a copy of all three credit reports and found a couple of accounts that I didn't recognize.

I attempted to contact the banks myself - but got the run around - if they are my accounts - I want to do the right thing!!!

Soooo....I disputed the accounts via the credit bureaus. Two of the four were deleted, one is still being investigated and one was "updated" which resulted in my credit score DROPPING 30 points.

According to the credit report, I "supposedly" opened up a credit card with First Premier and in Aug 2007 it was charged off. I never received notifications that this account was charged off - nor have I ever received a bill from the creditor. I don't recall this card ever being in my wallet either.

With that said, the "charged-off" amount is $447. My concern is - I'd like to verify the debt - and if possible, pay if off so that I can hopefully raise my score. Prior to the dispute, the item was being reported, but each month it was showing "ND" now....it's showing CO all over again.

Does anyone have any advice?? I'm hoping to qualify for a home loan, but this drop may hurt my chances for a decent rate!!!!
