What to do about accounts in collections?

I have several accounts in collections (a few credit cards and medical bills) from where I lost my job around 2010. They are all dated between 2012 and 2016.

Although its been years since I made my last payment some of them are dated as recently as last month on my credit report. They also do not show account numbers only balances. Is that normal?

Should I contact these debt collectors and offer to settle? Does pay for delete really work?

I am not as concerned with my credit score as I am with just putting all of this behind me.

I had Robert Tarr clean up my credit and he told me you should always dispute and inquire about what is on your report. I disputed my Bankruptcy and it was deleted!
