How do I get my Landlord to report my positive payment of rent for years ? I heard this could help with evaluating credit. :)

Hi Karen,

I suggest checking out PRBC here -> "http://prbc.com/consumers/". They offer an option to use past rent (and actually other bills paid on time) to build a good credit report. If you click on Learn More under the "Build Credit Now" section on the homepage, they walk you through the steps to get a free account and get rolling.

They also have a new service - online bill pay where each monthly bill you pay on time (including rent) adds to your PRBC credit score. The url is here -> "http://prbc.com/consumers/how/olbp-intro.php?showa=2&non=a#mid"

I've been doing some side work for them, and know they're legitimate and have good people there. They've got backing from Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, the Ford Foundation, etc. Check them out, and post back if you have questions. I'd be happy to help out if I can.

Hi Karen,

You should contact your landlord and ask him to submit your payment records with the bureaus.

If you have been regularly paying your rent then the landlord should send the details to the bureaus.

And yes it does help out with your credit evaluation if your record shows that you have been quite regular with the rent payments.
