Subject: unsatisfied judgments at the courthouse

Posted on Sat Dec 23, 2006 5:22 pm

I have two judgements back in 1997. One judgement in July of 1997 for 3,865.91 with BB&T the other judgement for $4560.97 back in Nov. 97 with Commercial Credit whom is no longer in business. I also have a judgement back in 2003 with GMAC which is $2,953.37 which I knew nothing about until this year. The GMAC judgment is on a car repossed back in 1991. Neither of these 3 judgements are on my credit file however they are showing up as unsatisfied judgements at the courthouse. I am in the process of buying a home however these 3 judgements are showing up at the courthouse as unsatisfied judgements. Will these judgements affect me being able to purchase my home? Also is there anyway to resolve these judgements or have them re-visited?

There is a possibility that they may pop up as a collections after you start getting inquirys.

I dont know what the laws are in your state but judements are only good for so long, so you might want to check to see how long a judgement can be good for.

Probably.
By resolve, do you mean pay?
Almost certainly too late for re-visiting.

Even though Commercial Credit is no longer in business, someone owns the assets of that. You might be able to get that one vacated if you do enough footwork.

The other two will probably have to be paid to close, including any accrued interest.
