I am in need of a debt consolidation. What do I do to save my ass! Do you have any suggestions/recommendations, or ideas, other than filing Chapter 7 Bankruptcy again!!
Contact a credit counselor, or try to begin negotiating with your creditors yourself. Many creditors (not collection agencies) have hardship programs, and are easier to work with at the beginning of financial difficulties...you need to be up front with them. They may reduce interest rates, and waive some late fees. Debt settlement is not usually the best choice...it results in charge offs, and you may sometimes be sued for the debt.
