| When trying to access our credit reports yearly, we're asked questions. That when answered the reporting agency says its the wrong answer. Excuse me it is the right answer. They then want all this personal info sent via mail. I have a problem with sending personal info to them via the mail. How do I get past this problem? |

My friend, if I am not wrong you're worrying about the id thieves who might jus barge into your personal info, if you’re gonna mail it. Am I rt ?
Lemme jus share the fact that all US consumers are entitled to receive atleast one credit report which gets conveyed free of cost from any of the credit reporting agencies and this happens every year. The easiest way to do it is to apply for it online:
Open the annualcreditreport(dot)com. Locate your files from amongst Equifax, Experian & TransUnion. This would be free of cost rather than accessing them through the websites belonging to these reporting agencies. Yes, here comes the most important part of the process as you have to pass through a series of gateways. The questions that prove your identity are associated with your recent loans for the year, the identities of the lenders, your previous residential address etc. So these are all based on information already known to you, so you need not worry at all.
Another way of doing it would be to make one single phone call. In order to avoid the different voice prompts coming your way time-n-again, its better you dial 1-877-322-8228 once and for all. Now, don’t start calling the bureaus, since then you might end up with another problematic process. Its better you call this number and avail the free reports at your address within 2 weeks time.
But incase you wanna carry on with a similar mailing process, its better you get the online credit report request form at annualcreditreport(dot)com & send it to the following address –
Annual Credit Report Request Service P.O. Box 105281 Atlanta, GA 30348-5281
Hope this piece of info serves your purpose!

Hi Flea,
First let me know what personal information are they asking for?
You are actually entitled to receive one free credit report on a yearly basis. Just that you have tried to pull it out from the CRA, always contact them via mail requesting your credit report. You need to mention your full name, current residential address, and any other permitted personal information that you can give out for example, you previous residential address incase you have moved in the last three years, your date of birth so on and so forth.
However the easiest way to do it is by applying for the credit report over the net. That will help you to get past the problem that you are facing. _________________ Regards,

When I go to the freecredit report site. Going through the verification questions, the answers they want aren't the right answers. In other words
my answers don't match theirs and I have no idea what they want since the right ones don't work. So I'm stuck. I don't feel comfortable mailing personal info to them through the mail. So I guess I won't be getting a credit report from any of the agencies. They all do it to me. When asking about a loan account, i've used every number associated to the account and none of them are the right answer. I've even taken it off my bank statement. It is really frustrating.
Thanks for all the replies.

Hi
I hope the problem of accessing your report has been solved? Check the numbers that you are giving. May be there are some mistakes somewhere. Wish you luck. _________________ Regards,
