Recently got evicted and have a judgement against in on one town court. Then their lawyers sent me a court order for a filing for a deposition in another town court. I called all over. got a hold of apt's lawyers. The meeting was set to be held in their office. NOw they have put me in contempt in city court. what is going on? what can I do to find out what court I am responsible to. DId not go to depositon because of first judgement already set in 1st court.

Contact the court clerk in each courthouse; they should be able to tell you when/where you have to appear, or refer to any paperwork you've received. This is hardly a matter to make any kind of assumptions about (as in, "DId not go to depositon because of first judgement already set in 1st court.").

Since you were evicted, I assume money has been a problem. If this is ongoing, perhaps you might qualify for legal aid???

I believe the deposition is to determine your assets/resources, so that they can pursue garnishment options.

Morningstar is right, sounds like you need the advice and help from an attorney in your area. You should not be able to be sued twice, that is crazy. Do you have a legal aid council in your area, even if you don't fit the income guidelines, they should be able to direct you to someone who can help you.
