Three or four days ago I received notice that FIA CSNA had checked my credit. Like many others I had no idea who that was, so I googled it. Then relaxed.
This morning I got another credit change notice. SOMEONE HAD OPENED A CREDIT CARD ACCOUNT IN MY NAME !!! with BofA.

Fortunately I do online banking so I could identify the card and call customer support.
I had the card canceled immediately.

BE ON THE LOOKOUT EVERYBODY WHO GOT THAT FIA CSNA CREDIT CHECK

cheers

Thanks debstinker,
I did some more checking and found that at least the mailing address for the new card was to my home.
Either someone thought they could intercept the card, or had some other way to get it, or perhaps BofA is trying to push a card on me.
(You know....Surprise! you get a credit card!!)

Considering all the trouble I hear the major banks are in, it wouldn't surprise me if they try to get more performing debtors. It's been a long time since I got an unsolicited credit card in the mail, I thought those days were over for good.

Cheers

UPDATE: LOL they did it! I got the card in the mail later today. (going directly to shredder). Interestingly the letter says: "Thank you for your request..."
AS IF I requested the card.

Hi Grillzilla....welcome to the forum. It is great that you could take necessary action and on time. Credit cards are being forced on us it seems right? It is so difficult sometimes when even after canceling they send the cards to our work place, home anywhere. i dont understand what they are trying to do.
