Hello Everyone,

This is my story. I have some important questions below if anyone has knowledge of an answer i wouls surely appreciate it:)

i have never cared about my credit because simply put i was an idiot. In Jan. 08 I decided at age 30 plus it was time to do something. I signed up with one of those 3-in-1 credit agencies who send me quarterly my fico scores and credit reports. pretty shocking. 504 not a good start. next i contacted all the debt collectors and gave them my full information (i do not recommend this to anyone) because all but one debt was validly mine and i wanted to begin to pay. i set up payment arrangements with each of them and have been paying since. I also have (yikes) 17,000 in outstanding school loans. i contacted them and apparantly they had gone into default. My own fault, I hadn't kept tabs on them. Hence they showed up on my report as 1 month in default. The solution to that problem was given to me by the government who told me to fill out a total and permanant disability form, which I did, of which has been preapproved but i am waiting for the final reply. To date, I have paid down 3000 in debt, with about a 1000 left not withstanding the school loans. I live of of Social Security Disabilty which I thank God for but it makes living in this day and age very lean. I also got a secured credit card through my bank. i have 2 checkings and savings with this bank and have a year established relationship with them. This seemed to help. i just got my quarterly credit report and my fico score has jumped 80 points. It would have jumped a lot more except that 2 of my debt collectors have very recent outstanding bills as of 11/07. (I moved and bills followed me or were sent into collection because the companies could not find me), also my school loans, 17000 worth now show up as unpaid which didnt help. I am also fighting a company MIDLAND CREDIT MANAGEMENT, I uppercase that because if any of you see them on your report I will pray for you. They are slick. I am considering suing them as they have violated my rights under fcra and fcdpa? not sure of the initials. Violated to the tune of over 10,000. Below are my credit questions, please help:)

1. If the school loans are assumed as gone by the government due to my disability will these still show up on my credit reports? If they do, will the remark be positive (paying etc) or negative (unpaid, deliquent etc.)?

2. My secured credit card, when is a good time to ask for an increased line of credit? one year relationship with bank and 3 months with card.?

3. If I sue Midland Credit Management will this account still be listed on my credit reports? (I have had all 3 credit agencies investigate this company and 2 have wiped it off except for Trans whom I am still waiting on)

4. Is there anything else I can do to raise my score? Besides paying down the debt which I am doing?

5. Are debt collectors required to update my payments each month on the 3 credit reports? If so, how do I go about doing this?
