Household income means the income generated by all those living in your house.

Please give me detail to how i can apply for credit.

Get acquainted with the terms used in credit, since you will be needing them now. Credit cards can be applied online, directly and also over the phone. You could also use the internet to make your applications. The internet allows you the time and freedom to look for different options like:

  • credit limits
  • interest free days
  • grace periods
  • penalties
  • interest rates
  • APR
  • cash advances
  • balance transfers and

other interesting offers.

Hari, For most credit card applications it is very normal to ask for your household income. This is used to help determine the amount of credit limit they can extend to you (along with your credit score). If you have any questions do as Carol said and read the terms of agreement or call the company. You need to especially be careful to read the fine print for interest rates. Some will offer a great rate but it will expire shortly after and default to a much higher one.
