I have an old debt from late 2007 which was a total rip-off courtesy of a Sprint phone that I purchase and used for one month. I used it for a total of 49 minutes and my bill was $180.00 which I paid on top of the $200.00 I spent for the phone. I quit using the phone but on 12/1/2008 Enhanced Recovery Corporation took over the collections and I now owe $590.00.
I want to buy a new car but looks like this is holding me back. Enhanced will settle for $300.00 but they absolutely will not give me a Pay For Delete saying they are not even able to.
Should I pay them then try to dispute with the 3 credit reporting companies.
If I pay Enchanced what about the original Sprint on my credit report.

I was thinking that I may have a chance at getting the Sprint and Ehanced histories removed from my credit reports by sending out dispute letters to the 3 CR Agency's. That is if I pay the debt off.

Do you not owe the money? If you think you don't then you might as well dispute the debt. Your CA will have to provide valid proofs showing that you owe them the money and only then you need to pay it. If they cannot prove it then you don't need to pay and get it removed from your report.
Remember to make all correspondence through certified mail and ask for a return receipt. These will act as documentation for you. If needed you can use them in the future.

I believe I do owe some money but I had a new phone that was suppose to cost me less than $50.00 per month and the first 3 months ended up costing me $600.00 with on 49 minutes of use. I believe I didn’t read the fine print or something. It was a big mistake on my part. Plain and simple
I just couldn’t stand owning Sprint.
I ended up calling them and paid it in full.
I tried to get a PAY FOR DELETE but they wouldn’t do that.
I know I could have settled for 50% through the collections agency but now I will wait until I get the information from Sprint in the mail that the debt is paid and then I will see what I can do with the Collection Agency since it is them that is showing on my credit report.
Any suggestion would be appreciated when I get the Paid in full paper from Sprint as how to proceed with the collection agency.
Should I try to dispute with them since it has been paid? Should I dispute with the Credit Reporting Agency since it is paid?
