I tried to dispute a negative entry with the credit bureaus a few weeks ago. The CA can/could not verify the debt properly. I sent them everything I was told here. They still did not care and sent me a standard letter saying they contacted them and the CA verified that it is in their records. They did not tell me how the CB verified it and no proof as well. ( the letter I sent them did ask for proof) and I thought the CB needs to ask them for proof? Just giving them a call and asking won't help me.
I also disputed two unauthorized credit inquiries. I got the letters today and Experian just told me they can't do it if I don't give them my SSN, copy of ID etc. and Transunion just said I need to contact the original source ( the letter I sent them did say that, though) and there is NOTHING they can do.

I don't really know anymore how to deal with them. They (apparently) do not read my letters I send them.

What can I do? Highlight the important parts in each letter?
