Recieved validation... I think

Dealing with MCM on an old citi card account. I received the last 3 statements from this particular credit card- the last one showing the charge off. Is that sufficient? I did not get a copy of the contract as requested and there was no explanation of the huge fees tacked on. Is my next best option to settle and is that even possible since they validated or can they demand payment in full? Any info would be great. Thank you so much.

Holy smokes, I just realized that the SoL for Texas is 4 years. This was from October 2004. What is my next step? Do I write a letter to them? Any templates around?

You are then protected by the SOL. By not paying it you will be continued to be harassed by the collector BUT by paying it you will reset the SOL.
I do not believe what they sent you was proper validation. Old statements do not validate a debt. If you are looking for example letters you can probaly find one suiting your purpose under letters of credit to the left of your screen at the top.
You could also send a cease and desist letter. I would keep a copy of what the sent you for validation. Since it was not proper validation if they did try to sue you could use that fat plus the SOL which would keep them from getting any judgements against you.
