Hi George, If I am understanding this correctly the credit reporting agencies are listing your fathers debt as yours. If this is so my husband went down this path a few years back. You could dispute the debts. Also try contacting the companies or collection agencies yourself and explain this to them.
We had to to this and also used the proof of the different social security numbers to prove the debts were not my husbands. Where we lucked out is at the time the debts were taken out my husband was only in his early teens so it was not hard to prove.
You will need to start with disputing the charges. Send out debt validation letters by certified mail. It may take some tim e to get things straightened around. Did your father use your ss number and name or what. You may need to explain that part a little better
