Subject: SOL on Medical Collections

Posted on Thu Jul 30, 2009 3:41 pm

Hello all, I have a few medical collections on my report that I am in the process of taking care of.. I have sent out a few PFD and they look promising. I talk to a rep from the company and they said that they do it just has to go to the supervisor.. My question is what is the SOL in florida for medical.. From what I can find it says 4 years for open accounts and 5 years for written contracts..

Which does the medical collection fall under?

thanks Dan

Hi Dan

The SOL on medical bills in Florida is 6 years. Usually medical bills are considered written contracts and hence would normally have an SOL of 6 years.
