Has anyone successfully corrected their credit history through the 3 major credit bureaus? I have an error on my credit report, it shows an agency that has an account that is still open and in delinquent status, however the balance was settled in 2004. I sent an investigation inquiry through the Experian website but still have not heard from them, this was over 11 months ago. Is there any getting through to these credit bureaus?
Did you dispute the debt? You could seek to dispute it since it is paid off. Do this in writing and through certified mail. Ask for a return receipt too so that you can have documents to prove in times like these.
