I checked my credit in Sep of 2008, and just checked it today, and I noted that NCO Fin/33 has posted a $9758 medical debt to my credit report, and I know for a fact it is not mine, I have not been in the hospital or required medical care outside of the veterans administration system since 1999. So how do I go about finding out what this debt is without causing a stir? I want to know what it is so I can take care of it, it is posted as date opened june of 2008, and updated on 07 of 2009. Help!!!!

Hi impressmesilly

This is not uncommon. You are not the only one facing this problem. There are many individuals who come across such things daily. Quickly ask for debt validation. You can find a sample letter here in this link below

Let them first validate the debt and then let us know how they respond.

Carol,

I don't have a problem sending a debt validation letter, but all they give me is a PO Box, can I send a certified letter to a PO Box? I didn't think you could do that. Thanks for your help and timely replies. MJ

Do not pay them. Send your letter, wait your 30 days and then file with the FTC and Attorney General. I have had all of mine removed because this company is fraudulent

Just wanted to share my expereince with you guys in referece to NCO. I sent NCO a debt validation letter and it was returned undelevriable. I disputed two collections online with the CRA's. Two weeks later both collections from NCO were deleted.

It cost me 5.00 for a certified letter and 10 min online disputing. Don't pay credit repair services, do it yourself.

By the way my score shot up 40 points.

Hi young,

The phone number for NCO Financial is 1-888-609-2354 . However, for any kind of communications or agreements you should send certified letters. Their address:

NCO Financial Systems
507 Prudential Road
Horsham, PA 19044-2308

800-220-2274 (you can try this phone number too)

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Aaron

out of the few company's that where on my credit report, nco fin/33 was the only company that would not pick up their phones. I had to go through the complaint office and that still didn't work. I had argue with the complaint office just to give me the main office number. so no one has to go through all the trouble i did, the main office number is 877.322.8655, the guy i talked to even got irritated when trying to get a hold of these guys. good luck!
