Subject: Now that my credit is better, should I apply for better cred

I'm not sure how to work this because I don't want to close out old cards and screw up my score, but they are all from when my credit wasn't that great. Upper 500's/low 600's FICO. Now my score is around 750 and I would guess I would qualify for better cards. The cards I do have have low credit limits on them as well since they are high risk cards and my score was bad when I got them (about 6 years ago). I currently have 5 cards. 4 with no balance. Should I just close out anything and/or get any excellent credit rating cards with higher balances? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. This credit stuff is tricky and I'm super confused ha. Thanks!

Hi brokenmotion1

Closing a credit account might have some negative impact on your credit score. However IMO, since your score has improved over the years, it is better that you work on improving it further by not closing your accounts. You may try and convince your creditors to increase your limit on the cards. This will give a nice impact on your score. Try and use your cards for the value you can afford. Don't use them for daily expenditures like laundry bills or grocery and the like. Use only 30% of the available limit and keep making regular payments. This is bound to improve your credit score.
