I disputed a debt with credit protection services with Equifax and they deleted the account as of August 1st. I recieved a letter dated August 06, 2009 from the Collection company. Any advice? Thanks

Thanks for all your help. Here is the letter that I will be sending. Let me know what you think and if you would add or remove anything. Thanks.

To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing to you in refrence to the collection letter dated 08/18/2009 that you sent to me. I have disputed this debt with Equifax on 07/10/2009. I received the results on 08/01/2009. According to Equifax this debt is not mine and they have deleted it from my credit report. I will not go in to quoting the FCRA because I am sure you are aware of the procedures you need to follow after a debt has been disputed and verified as not mine. I also sent you a letter of validation on 08/11/2009 and you received it on 08/13/2009 but still sent me this collection letter. Again, I’m sure you are aware that you are supposed to stop all attempts to collect this debt until you provide me with proper documentation that this debt is mine. I am demanding that you no longer attempt to collect this debt and no longer contact me about this debt or I will have to take further action. I am sending you copies of my dispute results from Equifax as proof that this debt has been deleted from my credit file. I am requesting that you send me documentation showing that this debt has been removed from your records. I would also like to inform you that I am keeping detailed records.

Sincerley,

Jose Rios Jr.
