Ask credit questions ...My husband phoned a CA spoke with a gal, paid over the phone with credit card, he asked to be certain this will not be placed on his credit reports as it was never placed prior. The gal said pay $16.00 and it will not be placed on the credit reports. Now it is listed on his credit reports, it was never listed prior to payment, what should we do?

Hi insifer

Did your husband owe the debt? How did he get to know about the debt? Did he ask the CA to validate the debt. These are basic things one does before making any payments to any CA given the fact that so many fraud companies are lurking about.

Ask your husband to check his report and if it is a false debt ask him to dispute it with the bureaus.
