Subject: statue of limitation question

Posted on Tue Sep 01, 2009 2:22 pm

can someone tell me please if the SOL for the below has passed;
date of status 5/03; and SOL in NJ is 6 years
can the collector still pursue the law suit and win in court; or will they drop it
i received a summon this week and i have 25 days to answer the summon.
should i send an answer stating the SOL has expired; or is the credit report not enough to win the case?
thanks much

I would contact the credit bureaus and make sure they are away that the person has passed. IL's limit is 7 years.
