Why should I have to pay to receive my own credit score?

I'm not sure you can answer my question, but I don't understand why I should have to pay for something that is mine (my own credit score) and something that is so vital and affects so many aspects of life.

Hello Vonnien,

From my view you do have a good point but lets look at it from the business side of things. First of people have to be paid at the credit reporting agencies for their work. I imagine it is not easy keeping track of more people than we could even imagine and keeping their credit scores accurate. Banks rely on them when looking for laon worthiness and therefore keeping your score as correct as possible takes work.
Just thin if something was wrong on your report who do you think corrects it? They do and that does take time so people must be paid. Hope this answers your question.

Yes that is true fireyone, but they also get paid by those creditors to get those scores, it is not a free service for anyone.

Yes its true. alot of people get upset at the way things are done. Even closing credit cards and the effect it has on your credit. We must relize that these things probaly actually keep costs down. By monitoring peoples credit it keep alot of unpaid debt from adding up and the credit lending people are not losing money. I imagine it would effect everyones prices and the good peoples interest rates if they did not have a system like this in place.
