MAB, Hello and welcome. It appears you may have a long way to go to clean up your report but nothing is impossible. Probaly the most damaging thing on your record is the judgement. The med bills and credit card bills do not help. I would look through and see if anything is past the seven year reporting period and if so dispute those items. Next go through and be sure all the information is correct. If you find errors report those also. Most things do fall off in seven years but you will need to start building a good credit report by making timely payments on any up to date loans. It takes time but you can do it.

Start with your lowest penign payments and start clearign them first. Work with a credit consolditation agency to get all yoru debt under one or two accoutns and with lower einterest rate

do nto apply fornew cards or loan until you are sure you have evrythign under control

Make sure to pay bills on time and any cards or loan if you hve any

Hi mabkccjc,

It is good that you wish to clean up your credit report. I agree with Firey that the judgment is the most damaging record. When did you get the judgment? Basically, every negative item stays in your credit report for 7 years. So, find out if this listing has passed 7 years or not. If it has, then it should be dropped by the CRA.

Next, find out about the creditors of your defaulted credit card accounts. Check your credit report and you will get the names of the creditors. If the accounts are still within the Statute of Limitations, try and pay off your debts, even if it has to be negotiated with your creditor, do it. It will not only help to clean up your credit report but also add a few points to your credit score. It is a little time consuming, but then so many negative items have accumulated on your report.

From now on, try to maintain regularity in your debt payments.

Hi mabkccjc

The best way to start cleaning your credit is by beginning to pay up on your debts. So, are you willing to make payments now? If you are then contact your lenders and be regular on your payments. If there are cards you can make full payments on, then do so. Try and settle debts with your creditor and request for a pay for delete. Judgments will take time to go off your report though. You could still try and get into a settlement with your creditor. This should help you clean your credit to some extent.
