settlement agreement and making the payment

do i sign the settlement agreement and send the payment at the same time.
or do i only send the agreement first to make sure the CA dismisses the case; then send the payment.
i am afraid that if they see i am willing to settle, they will get greedy and change the terms in the agreement, increasing the payment maybe.
what will happen if i send the agreement and the payment together?
thanks

It is a best to send the agreement first and then make sure everythign is in place before sendign the payment

If your accoutn is settled probably your credit report is already affected and you donot need to worry that it will affect your report i you send the money later

Hi Question,

Do not panic so much. You need to go through the settlement agreement terms and conditions properly and sign it. Check whether or not you are able to pay the amount that has been settled for. Send the debt settlement agreement via certified mail so that you have the return receipt. Wait for some time till the company intimates you that they have agreed. Once the agreement is signed by both parties, then not abiding by that agreement will be considered as a breach. The company must follow it. Hence, send the money after you have sent the settlement agreement.

I still haven’t received a validation of the debt. Please send proof and validation in accordance to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1692g (b).
None the less, I am enclosing the signed settlement agreement, and confirming that I am willing to settle this case out of court, and pay the lump sum of $596.38.
I am willing to dispatch the payment, as soon as you sign and forward the enclosed agreement to me.

(by the way i confirmed with the original creditor and received a debt validation from them that i still owe the money and it's owned by this current CA)
