Sara, it seems you have asked alot of questions on credit repair. I would think I would want to learn a bit more before putting that much money into something I did not know much about. You also need to take into consideration o few things. New businesses are very risky..especially credit repair agencies. People tend to look at them with an evil eye since alot of bad repair companies have given this line of work a bad name. Remember alot of new businesses also do not do well. One last thing. How over employed is this feild of work. It is like when everyone wanted to become a hair dresser and now they are everywhere. When too many of the same professions are available in an area it really splits the profits.

Wow fireyone, great answer, it is true that starting up a new business can be risky. however let me play devils advocate here, alot of people need this type of help. So if your business is legit and you truly want to help people and not make a ton of money, I would say go for it. You can even go to the small business websites and get information on how to start.

Competition in the industry is always good for the consumer, it will bring the cost down and there will be a reason for continual improvement on services. It gives the consumer of the product a variety to shop from and keeps the business owner on his/her toes.

Now my turn to play the advocate here. Just stop and think about this from the consumers point of view. Yes, the more of these businesses that open up do in fact bring down the cost BUT what would you rather have 1. a bunch of agencies where a consumer has to try to find the one that is really legit or 2. a bunch of agencies out there charging lesser fees but then you have to stop and ask yourself is this a reputable agency? Plenty f good and bad points. The only thing that scares me is how many times I am hearing of the debt agencies taking people for a ride and making their credit worse.

True, but how many car dealers, mortgage companies, etc that you hear doing the same thing. It is not only in this industry, a scammer is a scammer and you have them in all industries, heck I won the foriegn lottery three times last year, I just did not send them that $1000 check to collect my $359,000.

I hear what you are saying, like any thing you must check it out before you make a commitment is all I am saying.

It really is a shame all the scams that are running out there anymore. With the internet following people everywhere, including at work and their cell phones, more and more scams seem to be going on. This is a good reason why people should relize keeping an eye on their credit report is really important. Also anytime anything appears to good to be true well..it usually is. Credit in todays world has become a major factor. We all must protect it as we would our own children. It is part of practically everything we do from getting that job to rates on your car insurance.
