Subject: I am from Pa , am I responsible for my husbands bills?

I am from Pa. I was hurt on job and went onto workmans comp. then I was diagnosed with cancer. My husband was a louse, he took all my money and squandered it with his ladies while I was going thru Chemo, I am separated but not legally. Am I responsible for his bills? I have proof that he obtained an atm card in my name and signs my name to accts, Am I Liable for him? What can I do?

Hi Ruthie,

I believe as long as you are married to him you are responsible for his dept as well as he is responsible for yours. I would file for divorce and your lawyer can lead you in the right direction. I was in the same boat as you a couple of years ago other than being married and I know money is tight but the longer you wait the more he could be adding to the debt.
