Subject: Help with Arrow Financial and Gamache & Meyers

We have been dealing with AF for almost a year now. They say we owe close to $3,000 for a debt we are ASSUMING is from 10 yrs ago (husband made partial payments 2 years ago then they sold it to a subdivision and wouldn't honor the agreement) but no one will show us DV. I have sent two letters to two different lawyers. Each time it has gone past the 30 days. I don't know what to do then. Now we have a new letter from G&M stating the bill is close to $3,000 (the original from Arrow was & $1,600 for the frist two letters, when we were making payments it was $800!) Everytime we ask for DV the amount goes up and we have to deal with someone new.

I am at a loss of what to do.

Please help.

Hello Fellis, A lot of times when collectors do not have the proof to take you to court they will back off and sell once you send them a debt validation letter. I would suggest disputing their listing on all three of your credit reports and be sure to do so cert. mail. I also would call your atty general and ask for his or her help. This it what the office is there for. They usually will immediately step in and help. I had to contact my atty general over an issue and he called me back with answers in less than two hours.

What do I do when they don't validate. This is the third attempt from AF. They have sent three collection letters each time from a different lawyer...each time I send a DV. And nothing ever comes back but a new collection letter from a different lawyer. I know its not showing on our credit reports,we just checked those a month ago. If this is the one we think it is,still no proof, it hasn't shown on our CR for 2 yrs.

Hi Fellis,

When you sent the debt validation letter did you send it certified with receipt? If so send copies of those to the CB and dispute it that way. And like fireyone said get in touch with your attorney general they should be able to help as well.
