Subject: Small Business Debt

An old AMEX credit card debt opened with ss# was "charged off" last month by AMEX and sold to a junk debt buyer.

I just pulled my credit report this week and there the debt is not listed anywhere. I was expecting to see AMEX listed with a $0 balance because it was opened with a personal ss#.

Does it now show on a credit report because it was a small business cc? Is there any way to look at this type of debt? I wanted to look at the date of last activity.

I would still think it should be listed. How old was the debt? Are you sure it didn't fall off of your credit report. Do not pay anything on the debt until you know the SOL and ask for debt validation.

Margaret,
I am not completely sure but I do think maybe business debts are listed another way. I have seen other topics on here but do not wuite remember what they said. The only thing that throws me is that they had your social security number.
I am also thinking about a guy I am kind of familiar with who always opens his companies under a different name but he is always the owner. He does this after he files bankrupt. Really aggravates people around here. I guess it may be listed under the business name thinking of that scenario. Try looking through some older posts on the topic by using the search box at the top of your screen. Check back on this post here because others may know.
