Ask credit questions ...Can a credit card company that has a judgement on the husband garnish rental income from property that is jointly owned?

As long as it is put into an account with your husbands name on it. Than yes they will garnish it. You could consider putting it in an account with just your name on it. Then it should be safe.

Hello Grico and welcome,
Debra is correct. They can garnish any income that your husbands name is attached to. Even if the account owner is you once your husbands name is on it they can attach. Of course to do this they must have a judgment issued by the court to legally take any money. Do you knw if there is a judgment?

Thanks Fireyone,

They don't have a judgement yet and there is no court date set yet. Hoping they're just bluffing. I live at downeast Maine so the attorney would have to travel over a hundred miles.

They have actually drove 4 hrs. to take me to court. So that doesn't mean anything. Maybe you will get lucky and they are just bluffing.
