Subject: sis- in -laws problem

please solve my sis in laws problem-"I live in Illinois and my step-sister lives in North Carolina. She keeps getting calls from a attorney that says he's going to sue me for a JC Penney account that was charged off in 2004. What should I do since I have no money to settle this debt? Also they keep harassing her and got her name and phone number off the Internet. I never put her name on anything"

First I would check the SOL in your state to see if it has past. If so send them a letter and let them know that it has and they can no longer collect on the debt. If it hasn't then you will have to pay it. And don't worry about the number thing they must spend their days searching for people. I had one call my house a month ago looking for my x and we have been divorced for 14 years.
