8 months ago I paid Palasaids credit agency over $1000 I owed a previous creditor that they had purchased. I paid with a check which they cashed and promised me a reciept and that the negative information would be removed within 30 days. 8 months later I can neither get a hold of them nor is the negative mark removed from my credit. What can I do? I want to buy a house and this is the only mark holding me back. Is 8 months a reasonable ammount of time for a negative mark to be removed from my report? How can I get in contact with them and what recourse do I have?

Hi arrghmatie,

Do you have it in writing that they said they would remove it after it was paid. If not it's not much you can do because it is up to them rather they remove it or not.

I guess the negative mark is supposed to stay for around 7 years in your report unless they've agreed for a 'pay for delete' in writing.

I have the contact information of this agency as follows-

Palisades Collection LLC
210 Sylvan Avenue
Englewood Cliffs, NJ 07632

To Dispute:

87 South Commerce Way
Suite 700
Bethlehem, PA 18017

Relevant Phone Numbers

1-866-230-8094 or 1-800-991-9367

Now, did you pay them in full?
If you've paid them as per your agreement then the creditor should update the status of your account as "paid as agreed". Over here, you may request them to update your status as "Paid in full" instead of "Paid as agreed", or offer the same to you in writing.

If you don't have anything in writing, it would be good if no other CA pursues it in the future.
