Hi there!

I recently received a letter in the mail from a CA called ER Solutions. They stated that I owe Paypal $922.49, but didn't state any info about where this money I owe is coming from other than Paypal. The letter also said I can pay 50% of the total to settle the debt but it must be done within 45 days of receiving the letter. Can someone help me write a DV letter to this company? Thank you!

Eric

Hello Thorgs, First of all you can find a good example letter under letters of credit to the left side of your screen under helpful resources. It is an excellent example and you can enter in the information that applies to you. Make sure you remember to send the debt validation letter by certified mail.
Did you pull up your credit report and look to see if there was a listing on there that would match the amount owed? You can recieve a free pull at www.annual credit report.com

Hi thorgs, Then I would get that debt validation out in the mail as soon as possible. I am not sure of the true time a collector has to validate a debt but I would include some type of time frame when composing the lettter. You could request they respond with in thirty days. I sent one recently and then called the company and they informed me by law they have 60 days but of course these people will tell you anything to get you to pay.

Well, I called them today and asked what the charge is coming from. They said it was from 2002. Outside my SOL. Can they even collect on that?? It was from a hacked Paypal account anyways. So ER Solutions said they are going to send it back to Paypal as identity theft and that Paypal will investigate. Hopefully I don't hear back from either of them!
