Hello to all. I am an individual doing my own credit repair. I was never notifed about any of the accounts that went to collections until I received a report from the CRA's. I did the whole debt validation thing and 2 companies out of 6 responded. One of these companies deleted the tradeline when I told them that the amount owed was disputed. The other is a law firm who seem sto be dead set on not doing a pay for delete. What should I do?

Hello Talee and welcome to credit magic. First of all congrats on doing your own repair. It can be time consuming but it is well worth it. Is your debt from recedntly. If not I would ask that you check with your states Statute of Limitations. This is a law that protects you from being sued after a certain period of time. If the debt is not protected by the SOL then I would tell you that the companies do not have to agree to a pay for delete. If the are stubborn and will not delete I would just get the debt paid and be done with it.

It seems as if your settlement terms are not acceptable to them.
Did they give you any explanation as to why they're not ready to delete it?
