Does a collection company have the right to ask for proof of guardianship before discussuing with me the guardian the fact that the person they are trying to collect from has hid his identify stolen and is in fact mentally incapicated and living in a residential school out of state.

I would think that they would have to take your word for it, I am not sure that you have to provide them with anything. However, if you want them to speak with you about any personal business of the person that you are speaking of then you probably will have to show that you indeed have the right to speak on their behalf.

I would think so. Since the person you are speaking of has left you in charge of everything. You will most likely run into this quite a bit.

Why wouldn't you provide proof? I would report this to the police, how does a person in residential apply for credit?
