Hi thanks in advance for any advice you can give. I have 3 capitol one accounts. 2 of them are approx $800 & other is $900, then one is $3800. Lost one income when wife lost her job a year ago. cant keep up payments. Capitol one will not settle. I only have money for original balances. no more money. have talked with them approx 3 times. They keep wanting me to send payments, cant do that as have to eat. Is there any way to get this company to settle???

Well I' sorry guest but creditors take a long time before they can agree to settle any debt. They would do as much as possible to get the whole amount from you rather than a part of the debt. You can only keep your patience and try to persuade them to settle. Maybe this will take some time but I believe if you can show them your earnest desire in paying back the debt despite the financial hardship you are going through, they might melt. The other option would be to ask for debt consolidation where you may request them to lower monthly payments, or lower the interest they are charging on the debt or maybe waive any late fee.
