Hi;

This is my question: What happened when you Request validation of the debt to a debt collector because you receive a letter from them and then you receive a letter from the original creditor saying that an investigation was completed in response to your inquiry regarding your credit card account and that they determined that the account balance is accurate and you need to make a payment inmediately and at the end of the letter says that the account is owned by the credit card bank.

Thanks a lot for all the help you can provide. i am really trying to help my husband with his credit situation.

You received a letter from a CA AND the OC (or did I misunderstand you)? From MY personal experiences, I've dealt with the OC (Original Creditor) of my past due accounts. They WOULD have more accurate information on your account. Sometimes you can't always deal with them, I DO understand this..but, if you can, I would do that.

this is normal the records are supposed to come from the source. does it show a balance that equals the amount they are trying to collect?
