Subject: I electronically paid a bill yesterday, not posted today

As a snowbird, I haven't recieved my bill. I called yesterday, paid via telephone, and was told it went through. Today it says I haven't paid. It's due today--I don't want a late charge or credit damage. What gives?? I've always paid on time or early; I tried calling again today, can't talk to anybody untill tomorrow.

did they give you a reference number? what kind of bill is this? Generally reporting is done after a bill is 30 days late not one or two. And if you explain I bet they will waive a late charge.

Usually...if you pay electronically (depending on what it is), it may take a day or two to go through THEIR system. Good question..did you get a 'confirmation' or 'reference' number over the phone?

I always write the reference number down in my check book beside the amount that was paid, that way it does not get lost on a piece of paper.

Give it a day or two and you should be able to see it dated for the date that you made the payment.

Good point, GN. Even if the 'SHOWING' of the payment is late, they should STILL give that 'credit' that the payment was made on time.
