Years ago I had some problems paying student loan payments due to some hardships. I was up to 120 days late. Eventually got them deffered and have been making on time payments for more than 5 years. Now, I'm looking to buy a house and my credit is still hurt by the late payments.

I'm fine with one derogatory on my report. I did the crime; I'll serve the time. My issue is that it listed as FOUR derogatory items on my credit report, not one. Apparently, I get dinged for each loan for each year I was enrolled even though they were all with the same lender. Is there a way to get these items listed as one instead of 4 and improve my credit score? Seems a bit unfair to me.

honestly, you could call them. or find a new lender to consolidate the debt. then, you will have 1 debt & 1 new lender; rather than a total of 4 for each year.
