I have a medical bill that is on my credit. When I gave birth to my son I decided to have an epidural well the hospital failed to give the doctor the insurance information and now they are trying to collect this bill from me. They have put the debt on my credit but never notified my by mail. It wasn't my mistake so how do I get this off of my credit? Oh and by the way this is a three year old debt.

First of all its wrong that they debt you with out any kind of alert to you. Its not your fault because you have already mentioned that hospital management failed to provide the insurance information. Now if they are trying to collect the three years old bill from your side you can contact them and tell them the real story, else you can consult the court for this problem.

Check to see what the SOL is in your state it could be that it has pasted and if so they can no longer collect from you anyway. Let us know what you find out.
