Subject: Paying off debt

Posted on Tue Jan 19, 2010 10:49 pm

Texas A&M,

If I paid off 2 debts for a few hundred dollars very small accounts I didn't even know I had. I checked my credit report today and it says PAID on both items. I was wondering how I could get them removed or reaged all together. One was from an insurance company I sold insurance for and the other was for a cable bill very small amount. As soon as I found out about them I paid them in full. No negotiating just called them up and made a full payment no arguing or anything. How do I go about getting those items taken off my report entirely. They already say PAID IN FULL.

Best Regards,
AGGIE

I really don't know of anything you can do now that they are paid in full. If the accounts have been listed for 7 years they will fall off on there own. If they weren't paid you could have tried a pay for delete but that doesn't always mean the creditor will agree to this. Hope this makes since.

you can dispute them every year and they may fall off. You could think about a some way to complain about them but it may be tough this soon after. It should come off before 7 though.

I am wondering since you gave them no hassle in paying the bill that maybe you could call and ask fr the managers of these places and ask if they could assist you in removing these. It is a long shot but why not try. You have nothing to lose except for the marks on your credit report.

Negative items will remain on your credit report at least for 7-10 years from the date of your first default. If you want to wipe out those items from your credit report entirely, you can send a goodwill letter to your creditors to remove negative listing from your credit report. The following link may help you in this regard: debtconsolidationcare.com/letters/goodwill-removelisting.html
