I have my credit report, and everything on it seems to be accurate. I'm trying to buy a home in the next five months and need to improve my credit score by at least a 150 points. What should I do next

Hello vimajamcc,

You can't expect overnight boost in your credit score. However it can get better within 30 days if you pay down big chunks of your credit card debt. In addition pay the bills in time. The longer you pay bills on time the better your score.

Moreover keep balances low on credit cards. Getting your balances below 30% of the credit limit on each credit card really helps. Don't open a no. of new credit cards that you don't need, manage the existing credit cards responsibly. Use them lightly. Use the oldest credit cards every month.

All the above actions can help you in improving your credit score.

Dispute any negative items on your report. 150 points is a lot. you need to be specific about the problems.
