You always have a way of putting it GN. I do agreee totally. I think if these people could be more human results would be b etter. I know if one called me now there wouldn't be a lot I could do but if they talked normally and would except a smaller payment things would be different. What is that old saying? You can't pull hair off a toad. If you don't got it, ya don't got it.

I would agree with most of the comments above; even the comment about being nice people and just trying to do their job. Unfortunatly I have gotten the impression that the employee may not be trained in the law according to the FDCPA! Many of my conversations with this co. I have voice recorded and documented because they have violated many laws during such conversations. They have requested that I pay them for an alleged bad debt for a service that I cancled with the original service provider over two years ago. When I asked them for validation they have refused to provide me with any such validation of said debt. I have filled a complaint with my states attorney general. I would encourage everyone who is having dealings with this co. to do like wise. This company currently has an investegation pending with their own states attorney general (Texas).

jed,
You are wise to report them to anyone that will listen, that is what helps keep them in compliance with the laws. good job.

And since they won't validate the debt then you shouldn't pay them anyway. I like that you reported them. If more people would do this a lot more of these scam agencies would be put out of business.

I think the more complaints these companies get put against them the better, when they violate report them.

The more times their information is entered into the data bases with complaints the better, places like the states attorney general's office and the better business bureau depend on residence of the states to give them the information they need to file complaints with government officials and to change the laws. It was the department of banking in Pennsylvania that shut down a payday lender in our state. They would not have known if people did not file complaints. So get those complaints in there the more the better.

That was my thoughts. I wonder how Jared found his way here. This isn't a site for collectors but for people being hassled by collectors or wanting help to find their way finacially. I always like that you could come here and talk to people in your same situation without being harassded. Jared needs to go away.

I am glad you are being so honest here. It helps consumers to know that a company is less than reputable. This is why people who owe money do not want to deal with these types of companies. I hope you found a better one (job) and are getting the respect you deserve.
